Ten Things You Can Do To Market Your Business

Try Something New

When you’re used to handling most or all of the promotion for your business it can be easy to get in a bit of a rut.  Maybe you use only one or two ways or channels to reach customers.  Maybe you struggle to find new content or images.  Maybe you just have a touch of writers block or feel like you’ve said it all before.  Here’s a quick list of ten things you can do to help market your business.

  1. Get in touch with past clients.  Send them a note or an email and let them know what you’re up to.  Ask them if they’d like to join your mailing list or link with you on social media?  Let them know about what you’ve got coming up.  People who’ve already done business with you already know your brand and products or services.  Remind them what you can offer.
  2. Ask for referrals.  Let friends, family and colleagues know that you are in the market for new customers.  Ask them to pass the word to their networks about what you do and how you can be contacted.
  3. Email your subscribers.  Get a catchy subject line and let your followers know what you’re up to.  It doesn’t have to be long.
  4. Join a new Facebook group.  Facebook groups are great ways to network.  Let your new group know what you do.  Participate in the group so that people start to recognise you.
  5. Comment on a blog or social media post.  Making regular comments is another great way to build relationships.  Ask questions or offer a little praise if you think someone’s offering is great.
  6. Make a post on LinkedIn.  I often forget this network but there’s a lot going on at LinkedIn.  Join in.
  7. Interview someone.  Find an expert and ask if you can do a short interview.  Let them know what the interview will be used for and about how long it will be.  You might just learn something useful.
  8. Reach out to local media.  Even local newspapers often have an online presence these days and they’re always on the lookout for new content.
  9. Make a video.  Videos are great ways to reach a new audience and often have a larger appeal then a static post.  You can post on Facebook or to YouTube.
  10. Promote a discount or special offer.  Let your mail list, social media followers and all other contacts know about your discount or offer.

I’ll bet there’s not many people using all of these strategies for marketing.  Why not try one you haven’t used before? The more people who know, the more people who buy!

Till next time,
