The Secret to Staying Engaged

Staying Sane in the Silly Season

During this busy (hopefully) time of year it can feel a little like you’re on a treadmill.  It’s been a long haul since New Year and now you’ve got to find the energy to have a family Christmas  as well as remain motivated at work.  There’s a number of things you can do to keep some enthusiasm for your work

One of the main motivators for me is having something to look forward to.  Maybe that’s the lovely, rising bank balance from your Christmas sale period, maybe it’s finding a bit of time off once the madness has subsided, maybe it’s even getting a vacation.  Whatever it is you should use that as your shining star to keep you happy to turn up.

Christmas can be a very stressful time for a lot of people. Buyers are often stressed with the financial burden of this time of year as well as the sheer scale of getting all of the shopping done. Do what you can to alleviate this stress.  Can you offer payment plans for some of your more expensive offerings.  Make your Christmas cut off dates for mailing really clear and publicise them.  The easier you make this time of year for your customers, the easier you make it for yourself.

It’s also not too early to think about the new year.  If this year hasn’t been all you want New Year is an ideal time to make a fresh start. If it has been a blockbuster how are you going to top it?  Start daydreaming about what you want, or what’s next for you and your business. We’ll talk s bit more about that in the coming few weeks.

Till next time,

Sarah-Jane X
