Fitting it all in

I don’t know about you but I’m already feeling a little battle weary about Christmas and the end of the year. Don’t get me wrong, I love  Christmas but, between organising for the day itself, shopping and sending presents overseas, attending work functions, catching up with friends and, keeping up with business, I’m a little tired.  It’s easy to let yourself get stressed out with the expectations at this time of year and that’s why it’s more important than ever to make sure you’re looking after your most important asset - You!

There’s a number of things you can do to take some of the pressure off.  First off, make a list of everything that needs to still be done.  Now go through and determine if everything on the list is really essential.  I like to have beautifully wrapped and ribboned presents but it can take quite a bit of time.  Opt instead for plain paper bags with a nice message written on them!  Farm out as many of the jobs as you can. Phone your Christmas meat order to your butcher and have someone else pick it up or, order online and have it delivered.  Do as much Christmas shopping online as you can! Now with what’s left on the list allocate a day to do it.

Try to leave at least one free day a week for rest.  Schedule some time each day for yourself.  This might include time to exercise, meditate, read, or just have a soak in the tub.  Make sure to schedule any beauty appointments for yourself.

By allowing some time for yourself you’ll be in a much better frame of mind to enjoy the time with friends or family.

Till next time,

Sarah-Jane X
